Hardeep co-founded Motif Investing to create an intuitive way to invest in real-world ideas. He started Motif after spending more than six years in executive positions at Microsoft, including serving as general manager of Microsoft's $2 billion Enterprise-Services business. He was also director of corporate development and strategy, helping to oversee Microsoft's investments and acquisitions. Hardeep began his career as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. He holds a BS in economics and engineering from Yale University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. He also holds Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses in the securities industry, is a member of FINRA's Small-Firm Advisory Board and serves on the FINRA Technology Advisory Committee. Chief Compliance Officer & SVP of Customer Service and Operations
As one of the early executives at E*TRADE, Connie brings to Motif Investing a wealth of experience in the online brokerage space and an impeccable track record for success. Her career at E*TRADE spanned over 13 years, during which time she held roles such as Chief Communications Officer and Senior VP of Global Service Quality & Brokerage Operations. Connie was instrumental in building and growing the franchise from $23M to $2B in annual revenue and taking the company public in 1996. She has served on the Boards at Archipelago Holdings, E*TRADE Securities, Web Street, and as an advisor to the Chicago Board of Options Exchange. Connie holds the series 7, 63, 24, and 55 licenses.
VP of Engineering
Daryl is an experienced and talented Silicon Valley software architect. He comes to Motif Investing from his most recent success as the Director of Software Development at Mint.com, where he led the development efforts that built and scaled the application from launch to over 3 million users before seeing the company acquired by Intuit. Prior to Mint, Daryl was the Engineering Manager at Wily Technology where he created over 8 patents before Wily's acquisition by Computer Associates International. Daryl holds a BS and MS in Computer Science from Stanford University.
VP Finance & Deputy CFO
Jonathan has more than a decade of experience in the financial services industry. Before joining Motif Investing, he served as a vice president in investment banking at Wells Fargo Securities and as an associate at Thomas Weisel Partners, where he advised public and private companies on capital raises and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, Jonathan worked in the finance department at Charles Schwab, evaluating new brokerage products, pricing decisions and service model changes in the retail investor segment. He also has held positions at Deutsche Bank and Bear Stearns. Jonathan received his bachelor's degree from Yale University and an MBA from the University of California-Berkeley. He holds Series 4, 7, 27, 55 and 63 licenses, and is an avid investor who is intensely interested in the intersection of macroeconomics, politics and the markets.
VP of Product
Ross leads product design and user experience at Motif. With a passion for solving customer problems in simple and creative ways, Ross is a constant force behind Motif’s award-winning product. Prior to joining Motif, Ross spent the last six years working in Product Management around the Bay Area. In addition to most recently consulting with Microsoft’s Bing, Ross led the prototype development for a mobile messaging and delivery platform for the emerging digital license plate company, SmartPlate. He also managed product development teams for a social gaming platform at Doppelganger Studios until they were acquired. Ross holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
VP of Investment Products & Analytics
Tuhin has over a decade of experience spanning investment management, trading systems as well as semiconductors and life sciences. Prior to joining Motif Investing, he led the research and development of quantitative market-making strategies and trading systems at Ronin Capital for the US equity index and commodities futures markets. Before that he was a quant strategist at Barclays Global Investors (now Blackrock) where he worked on portfolio management, signal research, and large-scale market data analytics. Tuhin holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, he has co-authored several highly cited publications based on his doctoral work at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He is also a CFA charter holder and holds Series 7 and 63 licenses. Tuhin is particularly interested in the intersection of disruptive technology, data analytics, and fundamentals-based investing.
